Sami Bekal Bounouare is suspected of arranging an attempted contract killing in Haarlem, the Netherlands, in June 2024. The intended victim was an Iranian activist and publicist. Sami Bekal Bounouare is also suspected of involvement in the execution of a contract killing in Capelle aan de IJssel (NL) in 2021, in which Wisam Al-Albassi, aged 37, was killed. Bounouare has also been active outside the Netherlands. He is suspected of involvement in the attempted assassination a Spanish former politician in Madrid in November 2023. The victim was seriously injured when he was shot in the face. Sami Bekal Bounouare has a Moroccan and a Spanish passport, but had been resident in the Netherlands since 2010, where he mainly lived in Rotterdam, but also in Schiedam and ’s-Hertogenbosch. His current whereabouts are unknown. In recent years, he was also seen in Colombia, Brazil, Turkey, Spain, and Qatar.
A €50,000 reward has been/is offered for the golden tip-off that leads to Sami’s arrest.
