CAN YOU HELP?
On November 16, 2004, police officers found the Chinese student Yi Gu (31). She is lying under a blanket in her apartment on Boerhaavelaan in Haarlem. Yi Gu was strangled and was seven months pregnant at the time.
The murder suspect took several personal items, including her bank card, with which he withdrew 1000 euros. The footage shows an unknown Chinese man, later identified as Jian Xia.
The investigation revealed that Xia traveled on December 20 2004 by train from Drenthe to Schiphol. A day later, on December 21, 2004, he appears to have been in the area of Antwerp (Belgium). From that moment on he is missing.
The suspect Xia was born in Northeast China, Liaoning Province, and has worked in Chinese restaurants in the past.
Xia could be living in Spain, possibly with a different name and appearance. Investigations have shown that Xia left behind his own passport in 2004 and stole a residence document from Qiang Cheng, born on April 17, 1986. Qiang Cheng has nothing to do with the crime.
The original photos of the suspect are outdated and adjusted to give a better picture of Xia.
